Did you receive an email from authorize.net talking about changes their system in relation to TLS upgrades?
What this means is that authorize.net is updating their system to disallow websites using TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1 protocols. You will have to have TLS 1.2 or your websites credit card transactions will stop working.
Why is authorize.net making this change?
New PCI DSS requirements state that older TLS protocols must be disabled due to security concerns. In short hackers can steal your customers data using older TLS protocols.
What are TLS protocols?
TLS protocols are the Transport Layer Security protocol and are related to the SSL or secure socket layer. This is just a fancy way of security sensitive data to be transported from one place to another.
When will this happen?
Authorize.net says that they will disable the old protocols on February 28th, 2018.
What we can do for you?
We can test your current system to make sure you are using TLS 1.2 protocols
