What is a ONE Page Sales Page Website?

November 29, 2012

The Sales Page website is considered a mini-website that is usually just 1 page long, at most, 2 pages. The main purpose of a sales page is to market and sell one specific product. It is basically a one page site that forces the visitor to focus on your product and issues a "call to action" which would be to purchase your product. Sales Page websites are simple and direct without the need to navigate to any other pages. It would consist of a headline, your sub-headings and text content and the call to action ( information on how to order your product) at the very top, possibly middle and at the end. A potential customer will land on your Sales page usually by clicking on some advertisement on the web or possibly through an email link.

When creating a Sales Page website you must be able to excite the web visitor with the offer some kind of benefit or to be able to solve a problem for the visitor. For example, a benefit could be to offer a product that would help with weight loss, or a product that would help them make money etc. With a Sales Page, you are basically asking for the sale, therefore, you must be able to generate high interest and excitement in order to encourage them to buy.

The following are certain criteria for creating a Sales page that assist in engaging your web visitor: Interesting video; large eye-catching headlines with bold text; big photos and images; an obvious, clear "call-to-action"; neat well written copy; the offer of some kind of benefit.

The format of a Sales Page website also allows the content to be presented in a very personalized fashion where you do not have to follow the rigid formats of the typical website. Because your content is just on the one web page, you can just create sub-headings one after the other to illustrate your story and have the format flow in a less rigid manner.

If done correctly, the Sales Page can be a very effective way to convert web visitor prospects into customers.
